Fantasy football-week four

October 1, 2010

The NFL has continued its unpredictably last week with the last three unbeaten teams being the Bears led by a rejuvenated Brian Urlacher, the Chiefs with great coaching, and the Steelers with great defense.

Last week Michael Vick continued his epic return to the NFL with four touchdowns. Anquan Boldin caught three touchdowns while racking up over 140 yards receiving. Adrian Peterson with the Vikings ran for over 150 yards with a pair of touchdowns. This coming week will have many players breaking out and could potentially be a big week if you need to pick up some players.

At quarterback position the top three on my list this week are Manning, Vick, and Rodgers. If your looking to pick up a quarterback Bruce Gradkowski of the Raiders has had a good last couple of weeks and this week he is playing at Houston. The Texans are giving up a league worst 365 passing yards a game. On the bench side look to sit Joe Flacco if you have a decent backup quarterback because the Ravens and Steelers just beat the other teams offense up every time they meet.

The Running back position is a beat up position. There are lots of injuries to be wary of and check injury reports before starting your back this week. However the top three for me are, Chris Johnson, Cedric Benson and Arian Foster are all healthy and playing bad teams. Other running backs that should have big weeks are Tomlinson and Williams. As mentioned previously many backs are hurt and Ray Rice, playing the Steelers should be on your bench this week.

Wide receivers are having a big year regardless of defense they are playing this year. With that being said Marshall, Boldin, and Collie should all start and put up huge numbers despite playing good teams. One of my new favorite receivers is Louis Murphy. He has been the best receiver on the Raiders this year.  Jabar Gaffney is also having a good year and last week was targeted 14 times, and that should continue this week. The Jaguars and 49er’s are awful this year, along with that, Sims-Walker and Michael Crabtree are too and should be out this week, and probably all year.
