February 8, 2013
French Club and Anime Club sell carnations and cupcakes to raise money and make your V-Day a little easier
Joe Florio / The Courier - French Club member Michelle Diedrich sells Jake McLean a carnation. French club members will be selling carnations through Friday.
Don’t know what to get your significant other yet? Maybe you just want to get them something a little extra to say “I love you.” Or maybe you’re going stag this week — get your best friend or roommate something that says, “Thanks for taking care of me that one time I puked everywhere at 3 a.m. and you put me in bed AND cleaned up”. I know you’ve been there.
Well thankfully, French Club and Anime Club are here to rescue you. Upstairs, French Club is selling carnations for a dollar. “We’ll put them in their mailbox,” said Michelle Diedrich, who was manning the table on Thursday.
“Tomorrow is the last day to get them, but if we have more left over we will be back Monday and Tuesday.”
The French Club is raising money for a variety of activities.
On the Feb. 8, there will be a Mardi Gras party, where students can eat crepes and participate in trivia for prizes.
“Also,” says Diederich, “we want to have a wine and cheese party at the end of the year.”
Joe Florio / The Courier - Anime Club members Ariel Fornino and Marisa Franks sell cupcakes to Shakeylia Robinson. Anime club will be selling through Friday as well.
Downstairs, Anime Club is selling homemade cupcake valentines. “The cupcakes will be made from scratch the night before, and you can put a cute note with them,” says Ariel Fornino. They are selling Valentines to raise money for a Japanese food day.
