New dining variety impresses: Greens to Go and Provisions on Demand provide new dining options

Greens to Go and Provisions on Demand (POD) express are two new restaurants on campus this semester. Greens to Go replaced Ben and Jerry’s ice cream in Scotland Yard and POD opened in the Center for Science and Business.

Food service manager Bruce Cvancara said Ben and Jerry’s declined to renew a contract with Aramark due to low monthly sales. Adding a new option for students was necessary, according to Cvancara.

Greens to Go specializes in salads and wraps. Cvancara said Greens to Go has averaged 150-160 salads at lunch and dinner each day.

He also added that the new change has been well received by students, faculty and staff because of limited vegetarian options before Greens to Go.

Provisions on Demand serves over 100 people each day, specializing in salads, sandwiches and beverages including Scots roast coffee, made by Monmouth College’s chemistry department.

POD does not offer meal exchange, only flex dollar options. Hours for POD express are Monday- Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
