The Charlie Rogers Band preview

February 7, 2014

Clear out your night on Friday at 7 p.m. The Charlie Rogers Band is coming to Monmouth College all the way from Nashville, Tennessee. The concert is free in Dahl Chapel.

The group is a spunky fusion of classic rock, modern country, and just a dash of pop, as described by the group’s lead singer Charlie Rogers. The group was created in December of 2010. The band currently consists of lead singer and guitarist, Charlie Rogers; guitarist, James Black; bass, Erik Coveney; drums, Jake Robinson; keys, Alex Horton; and fiddle, banjo and mandolin, Chuck Callahan.

The band cites Jason Aldean, Eli Young Band, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, The Beatles, Luke Bryan, and Darius Rucker as their main musical influences. They often play covers from many of these artists, but they have multiple original songs as well.

These young men, a few of whom are still in college, are well on their way to success. The band has been featured in the film “Redemption,” as well as on its soundtrack. They have also played the Tennessee National Republicans Convention and The Standing Room Only tribute to Charley Pride.

They also have quite the presence on Facebook and YouTube, having nearly 83,810 views and about 461 subscribers. The group currently has an album, “Remember When,” and an extended play, “Laugh…Love…Sing…,” out; both of which are available for purchase through the iTunes Store.

The group is currently active on Google+, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
