ZBT Pancake Dinner

March 28, 2014

By frying over 100 pounds of bacon, not to mention cook hundreds of flapjacks, the men of Zeta Beta Tau are hoping to intrigue students, professors and community members to join them in their annual ZBT Pancake Dinner for the American Cancer Society (ACS).

Going on its fourth year, the ZBT pancake dinner allows guests to buy raffle tickets, eat unlimited bacon and pancakes and socialize with friends while also supporting the ACS. This year, according to ZBT President Max Seisser, some of the most interesting raffle prizes include free haircuts, RoVi’s gift cards and apparel from MC Sports.

Last year, ZBT raised over $1,500 and in 2012, the men raised $3,000 for the ACS. Senior Corbin Peterson has helped coordinate the event each year, and although there is no monetary goal set, ZBT is hoping to raise more than last year’s amount.

“This cause means a lot to us,” Seisser said, “and it’s something we’re going to continue for a long time. For our members, it’s a way for them to reflect on cancer and how it affects so many of us.”

Tickets can be bought in Stockdale during regular meal times or at the door of the event for $6 or two for $10. The dinner will be held Saturday, March 29, at the First United Presbyterian Church (just one block south of the Alpha Xi Delta house) from 4:30-8 p.m.
