Advice with some Spice

February 20, 2015

Dear Paprika,

I haven’t been feeling like myself since I’ve been back to school this semester and do not feel like I have anyone to talk to.

Sometimes new semesters can we hard to adjust to. If you are still having troubles, there are some great resources to utilize on campus. I would first suggest talking to your RA. They know how to deal with student conflicts and can help you get a kick start on your new semester. If you do not want to go to a peer, professors or the counseling center are a great people to talk to. Many times students do not think they need to talk to a counselor, but if you aren’t feeling yourself, I say why not? It doesn’t hurt to share your feelings with someone that you know will have your best intentions in mind. Good luck with your semester and I hope things get better for you!

Dear Paprika,

I am always down to party, but it seems like all of my friends are not interested anymore. How can I bring the party back to MC?

What up! If there’s anything Paprika loves, it’s a good party! Monmouth College is a great place for academics, involvement and athletics, but I have noticed a lack of parties compared to other schools. If your friends do not want to go out, try to make big plans and persuade them into thinking it will be a good time. Maybe even try to throw a themed party! How fun would that be? It’s always nice to let off some steam during stressful week and college is a great time to have fun with friends. In the end, if your friends don’t want to go out in Monmouth, suggest visiting a friend from home at a different school. It will be fun to get away and get a party experience with your MC friends in a different environment.

Party on, my friend!

XOXO- Paprika
