Around The Kilt

November 13, 2015

Description – Every week, we debate a sports topic. This week, the writers state their case for which undefeated NFL team will stay perfect!

If I had to chose one team that I believe has the best chance to finish the season undefeated I would pick the Carolina Panthers.

Why? Of the three remaining undefeated teams, the Panthers have the easiest schedule in terms of their opponents’ total wins. A more popular pick to go undefeated might be the Patriots or even the Bengals. With New England still having two tough divisional games against the Bills and Jets, and nearly losing to them the first around, I don’t see them winning both of those games.

Then there’s Cincinnati, who also have two rival divisional games left in a tough division. With their continued defensive success and Cam Newton’s ability to find ways to win games, I think the Carolina Panthers have the greatest chance to finish the season unbeaten.

Out of the three undefeated teams left in the NFL, the New England has the best chance of going undefeated for the rest of the season.

The main reason for this is because they have the best quarterback who has ever lived and went 16-0 once before in Tom Brady. Brady is 38 years old, which is supposed to be when players in the NFL are retiring, yet he is having one of the best seasons of his career.

They also don’t have a very hard schedule the last eight games of the season. They play the Broncos in three weeks, but other than them, they play a lot of teams that are .500 or worse.

In my opinion, they are the best team in the league by far. Tom Brady will not let another shot at being perfect slip away from him.

The Cincinnati Bengals have started off the season strong with a 8-0 regular season record.

Two other teams in the NFL in the have kept an 8-0 record this season, the Carolina Panthers and the New England Patriots.

Most NFL fans are placing their bets on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on staying undefeated. They have Tom Brady and Emperor Palpatine guiding them, not to mention they’re defending champs.

However, I am placing my bets on the Bengals, due to the simple fact that they have an easier regular season record then the Patriots or the Panthers. I have the Patriots losing to the Denver Broncos in week 9 and I am placing my money on the New Orleans Saints knocking off the Panthers in week 11.

I believe the deep Bengals defense will allow them to be the last team to remain undefeated in the NFL.

I’m going to go against the grain here, and say that it’s the Carolina Panthers who has the best shot at going 19-0, not 16-0. When I hear “undefeated,” I think of going undefeated through the Super Bowl.

And let’s face it; the Panthers have the easiest ride after dealing with the largest threat in the NFC fairly easily. Cam Newton’s still a beast, and the Carolina defense might be the most talented in the NFL, and easily the best of the undefeateds.

That’s not to slight New England, though. But they still have to deal with the Jets and Bills, two teams that match up very well against the Pats. And the AFC is still undoubtedly better from top to bottom than the NFC.

It’s just too difficult to imagine the Patriots strolling through all of the quality competition after Tom Brady saved them from defeats to the Bills and the Jets.
