Lollapolooza is a popular music festival in Chicago where many artists and bands come to perform at one location.

Timothy Yates has been organizing a similar event to have here at Monmouth: Scotapalooza.
Scotapalooza will showcase different performers from both the campus community and the local community.

Scotapalooza will be in Dahl Chapel this Saturday, Februrary 13th. The event starts at 5 P.M. and will go until 9 P.M. The line up of performers to be featured at the show will include the musical talents of soloists and bands including Aaron Fry, Cristian Corbett, Lydia Hill, Stereocircus, Plunkett, and The Brooks Brothers Band.

Performer Cristian Corbett said “I’m really grateful that I was approached to perform at Scotapalooza and to share something I love. It’s a great cause and I hope people come out to support the Wind Ensemble.”

This night full of music and fun will be open to students as well as the Monmouth community to enjoy. General mission is five dollars but there will also be a three dollars admission price for students who show their Monmouth College student ID.

Money raised at Scotapalooza will go to support the Monmouth College Wind Ensemble.

With Valentine’s Day weekend quickly approaching, and many students will be looking for things to do with their friends or that special someone. Movies and romantic dinners can cost a pretty penny, especially on a college student’s budget. It never hurts to look close to home for good entertainment.
