Commencement Speaker ‘17

Monmouth College’s 160th Commencement Exercise will be delivered by Public Broadcasting System (PBS) senior executive, Juan Sepúlveda.

“Juan Sepúlveda is a living example that higher education is a pathway to success in this country,” said President Wyatt. “Like many of us, he came from a modest background, and through education he’s become someone who makes a difference in our communities.” He has an extensive educational background receiving degrees from Harvard University, Oxford University, and Stanford University Law School.

Sepúlveda has been the PBS senior vice president of station services since 2014. His work at PBS includes representing the perspective of the networks independent member stations in the management and strategic direction. He ensures that the services, products, and programs support each individual station’s connection to its own respective audience and community.

Before earning his job at PBS, Sepúlveda worked with the Democratic National Committee acting as the Senior Advisor for Hispanic Affairs. While working on Capitol Hill, he led the first Hispanic Policy Conference as well as acting as the Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics.
