Dia de los Muertos

November 3, 2017

Last Sunday, Intercultural Life took a few students to the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, Iowa for an early celebration of “El Dia de los Muertos” (The Day of the Dead). This Mexican tradition is used to celebrate the lives of loved ones who have passed away. Altars are decorated with photos of the departed, along with some of their favorite foods, drinks, and objects. Live performances, food, and sugar skull decorating were some of the activities that were offered by the museum that day.
